Has anyone done this? I removed that useless little sun shade above the rearview mirror and attached the bracket for the radar detector right to that screw hole. I had to modify the bracket slightly by drilling a hole in it and bending it. Now my radar sits snugly above the rearview mirror, hidden away from plain view... with no suction cups to fall off on hot days. In addition, I tucked the wire inside the window trim and ran it down to the fuse box so it turns on with the ignition.

it and decided not to install up there for this reason. I'd be interested to know how it works.

so it's not an issue.... even if it was rear facing though... I doubt it would be a problem. Maybe with laser, but for regular x/k/ka/superwideband/etc.etc... I think it would be fint. Besides, nobody uses laser around here becuz it's too damn expensive for the police to buy the system. I think I was clocked once with a laser in the six years I've had this detector.
