How many miles did you get out of your Power Steering Pump?
The bearings in my power steering pump went and it makes a loud noise and is on the verge of ceasing up last Thursday. Went down to Autozone and ordered a new one which arrived Saturday. Over the weekend took the old pump out and found out I got the wrong pump. Everywhere from Napa to Advanced Auto had the same pump that does not fit :/ Hopefully the new one I ordered online will come today!
Mind you I just did the timing belt 3 weeks ago due to a leaking water pump... just to have the car sit for another week hung up on parts yet again... Other than regular maintenance nothing has broke on the car for the past 2 yrs until now.
Is it just me or is it hard to get parts for an Audi within one day without spending double the price?
I got 1998 A4 2.8L QM.... Power Steering Pump failed at 150,800 miles. Oh well, its a real fun car to drive =)

I'm trying to avoid any placebo effect that goes along with spending nearly $400 on a suppossed performance increase. Here's my experience:
The car now pulls consisently through the whole rpm band. It used to hesitate around 3k -- eliminating that hesitation makes it feel quicker. Raising the rev limiter to 7100 has helped me on turn 11 at BeaveRun. It's a 2nd gear turn which I used to have to shift into 3rd while still turning, now I can fully exit the turn before shifting. That said, BeaveRun is a track where I have turned 100's of laps and I was a bit disappointed that the chip did not seem to increase my straightaway speed at all. I'm trying to catch the ACNA national meet at DIS in December, where I hope to take advantage of the eliminated TS governor.
In the end, I'm glad I bought it, I'd do it again.
