how much does the quattro bog down the pick up of the 2.8? Is it very noticeable

It doesn't really "bog-down" It's actually quite fast off the line...
It has alot of low-end torque so it pulls hard off the line. Then the flat spot in the RPM bands hits and it doesn't pull as much.
I've driven a non-quattro 2.8 and it "felt" quicker but not by much. (Also felt sloppier, but that's another story)
My father has a MY01 1.8TQTip and my 2.8 pulls much harder off the line. (both cars are stock)
