How much should the local dealer charge for tie rod ends to be installed?
I already have them, but i'm much of a n00b to install them myself. The dealer south of me said it was a 3hour install(couldnt get ahold of the local guys today). 3 hours seems excessive
should I just be a real man and try the isntall myself? i have all the tools to do it.

Depends no how old your car is, really.
If the tie rod ends in your car have been there for ....more than 3 years, they stand a very good chance of being frozen/corroded in. If that's the case, it has the potential of taking (even an experienced mechanic) every bit of 3 hours to replace them.
I'd recommend you at least try to do it yourself though. Get in there, and see if they'll at least break loose. If they do, great, count them off & count the new ones on(with anti-seize!). Go for it. But if they won't break loose, stop there, reassemble what's been taken apart, and take it to someone.

it's a 2001
i'll call em tomorrow and see whats what. I need to go in for 55k service and i need an alignment(suspension installed recently). i figured i'd kill 2 birds by having the tie rod ends installed while im at it and have them align that
