That sounds about right for an auto tranny, as quoted from the dealer.

Default The tranny has around 30k miles on it... I'm doing a tranny swap, from tiptronic to 6spd.
So I don't need the auto tranny anymore...

Default DO a search here, some dealers have charged 11 and even 12,000 for the auto tip.
There's a place in Georgia that sells remanufactured autos for our car for about 1400 though. (I found them surfing, I've never used them) You might give them a call.<ul><li><a href="http://www.austauschgetriebe.net/audi.htm">Try here</a></li></ul>
