How not to go about waiting for a new S4.
I purchased a Ford Mustang Cobra about 2.5 years ago, after having driven a BMW 535is for 3 years. St the time this seemed like a good idea. As you can imagine, the Cobra was a complete POS. It needed a new transmission at 3000 miles, and the paint was orange peel factory standard.
So I sold it, and ordered an S-4. Now I have to drive a 5 shades of orange 83' BMW 320is in the mean time, and I wonder, when will the S-4 arrive.
I went from being able to pass anything, to currently being passed by old VW bugs.
The wait is killing me. Sob sob sob. Ok, I am done now.

I hear your cries my brother...
Ordered my S4 Nov. 6/98. Sold my 95 Talon Tsi AWD in March. It was really modified for speed & looks & while I'm not driving a beater, I am driving a gutless 98 2.8qt...Hate waiting, Hate automatic transmission, hate driving slowly. But oh how sweet it will be to get that S4!!!

hey buddy, back off
Pardon me, did you just refer to the A4 98 2.8qt as gutless?
First off, what the hell is the "t" in your designation.
Second, what the hell are you thinking posting the pride and joy of this message board as "gutless." Shake your head a little...we don't want to hear it.
&%$#@
Here's hoping you have manifold problems.

Had you paid attention....
You'd have surmised that the 't' in 2.8qt stands for Tiptronic.
Most posters, lurkers, and others to this forum would agree that the TIP sucks the life out of our beloved A4s both blown and normal breathers. Gutless may be a bit severe, but not far off the mark. (I'm only guessing 'cuz I've never driven an Audi equipped with TIP)
fwiw
slack
99.5 2.8M
p.s. the 'M' stands for manual...
