How often is your clutch fan/EFK running? I'm asking because my clutch fan went out this wknd....
..and I'm noticing how quiet the car is now. It seems that fan was always on when it worked. I'm about to upgrade to a EFK but I was also concerned about the heating issues that may have caused the fan to run overtime and burn out.
From what I was told, the clutch fan is mostly used when the car is not moving fast but not really needed when on the highway because of the air moving through the grille, moving the heat. But I've noticed that my car is still slightly above the half way temp mark even at highway speeds. So this must mean that the fan was even on when I was crusing at 65mph.
So my question and concern is, what else could be wrong with the car besides the clutch fan. Or should my car be running that hot all the time where the fan is always running? Seems like that fan should get a break on the highway?
BTW:
* it's a 98 2.8 QM
* water is moving through the hoses
* Electric fan only comes on when the AC is on (as far as I can see)

With an EFK installed...
The EFK is thermostat dependent. When the switch for the thermostat is switched on this will turn on the EFK. This will run as a normal fan clutch will with the exception of turning on electrically.
