Sorry, I've used Audi jacks for many years . . . .
When properly used, they do the job they were designed to do -- change tires.
I'll agree that the lift points on the chassis should be marked more clearly.

Hey, Jeff Davidson, my car is the victim.
If I was changing a flat on the side of the road, would I be expected to use jack stands? Are they in the trunk somewhere that I missed? I understand that I should never get under the car wihtout the stands, but should I never use the jack Audi provided? The damage to my car was caused by an unstable factory jack. I believe that is Audi's fault.

I believe the user is to blame.
I agree with Ulf Udi, they work fine, but you need to be very careful when you're using them. They are small, and you are requiring it to hold up a large amount of weight. If they are not properly attached to the vehicle, and the base is not stable, accidents will happen.
You can take it to the dealer, and make a stink, but don't expect it to lead anywhere. Find out what you did wrong, learn from it, and count your blessings...no one got hurt.
