Default I have a 2001, can I use racetec 4 point strut tower brace?...

I know that the 2001.5's can't because the battery was moved and the bar won't clear with the new battery position, and it seems that some 2001's have the battery moved in anticipation of the factory brace, and some 2001's have a smaller battery that will work with the racetec bar.

Is there any test or inspection that I can do before buying to be sure that it will fit? My car is a 2001 built in Nov 2000, it does not have the factory brace, but it does look like it has clearance between the front firewall and the stock battery for one. I could probably slip my fingers in that gap. Also my battery sits towards the passenger's side of the engine compartment, it is not centered.

Default stickerboy is right.... wouldn't fit... and I am a VERY early build

6/00 build... the battery is too wide... the bar itself won't touch the bolts... you will need a new battery.

see on the pic that dspy posted... look at the left side of the battery, see how the bar starts to angle down RIGHT after it passes the battery... my 2001 battery was WIDER, so the bar that angles down hits the battery, no way it would fit.

I bought an optima from oneeighth... swapped that in (it is smaller than OEM) and the bar fits fine.

so racetec bar on 01 == new battery.
