I have a 99.5 1.8T Quattro Tiptronic. Can I use a Remus muffler from 98 2.8 30V??

Yes, but you'll need the exhaust adapter that came w/Remus, the original purchaser should have it.
It's the same for both cars as long as they are both Quattro, they ship an adapter to adapt the Remus pipe for the smaller 1.8T exhaust. For the 2.8 30v it just slips on.
