it from upgraded the shocks? How will I know? Would it be that he just had OEM sport and then just did springs?

Default lol, ya I'm sure I wont miss it. I dunno, on my shocks it has an H&R sticker on them, I know oem

sports are red, so definitely check out the color and if they are red I would guess they are oem sports. If not I wouldnt know how to tell!

Default no 12v would come with sports package

the sports package was not introduced until the 98 model year, after the 12 valve was replaced by the 30v. If he does have red shocks, they were definitely upgraded or aftermarket.

Default how long are we talking?

the general consensus is that aftermarket springs will eventually overwhelm the stock shocks. But, I don't know what the timeframe for that is or how the aggressiveness of the spring affects the longevity of the shock. I don't think Eibach sports are very hard, but I'm no expert.

If you've had the car for a good length of time I would imagine if the car still rides fine, your shocks are likely upgraded. One sure way to find out, jack it up and look.

Default if they're black, then they're stock...

Default Is the suspension bouncy?

Or does it sag when you have people in the car?

A bad shock will travel too far and tear the bumpstops

If car is stiff, then shocks are aftermarket or OK
