Default i have a problem

the other morning my mom took my a4 to the supermarket without telling me and as she was backing off the driving she drove right into the 10 inches of snow that was left over from the last big snow storm we had here in long island.
So she gets stuck and can't get out.

She wakes me up and i of course say to my self how can you get stuck, i have QUATTRO. But when i went outside to see, all the snow had accumalated under the car, sort of lifting car, especially in the rear. I tell my mom to get in the house and never drive the car without my permission as i try to get the car out. I tried digging the snow under the car but it was like a wall and i couldnt get much out. SO i kept giving it gas and i turned the steering wheel full way left and right and finally got out after an hour of trying.

What did the trick was turning left to right full way. I inspected the car and everything seemed ok. The next morning on the way to school as i back out i noticed that everytime i turn my steering wheel to the left , i hear a really anoying and loud like rubbing sound. I checked if it was the wheels rubbing but it was not. i know it definitly has something to do with me turning the steering while trying to get out of the snow.

Does anyone know what could be wrong and what i should look for? Has this happened to anyone?

SOrry for the long story .....

thanks will

You've got some ***** kid. If I ever mouthed off like that to my mother she'd backhand my ***, whether I was 23 or 83.

Default same here...

that's why i bought a manual and an A4. My mom wanted me to get a SUV(X5)and offered to pay the $$ past my limit. I rejected the offer...so i can have the car all to myself. =)

Default first thing, pop the hood and check your power steering fluid.

Make sure you have enough in the resevoir. It could be something came loose with your steering column, if the fuid is fine, I would bring it in at your moms expense.

Default Worth checking fluids as suggested but it is likely you whacked the power steering pump by holding

it hard against the stop(s).

Default Re: same here...

I hear you boys...my mom would have beat my 21yr old *** for saying something like that. Then again, thats why I bought manual...the A4 is like a baby who can't be driven by anyone except myself... The best solution is to make sure everyone has their own car!!!!!!

Default Beating on a car for an hour to get it un-belly hung is NOT the best way...

All you needed to do was shovel the snow out from under the car to get more of it's weight on the tires..

PS, did your mother/parents pay for the car? if so, quit your whining. If not, how did she get the keys if you are so worried?

Default My family is very similar...

My dad has a '95 with about 50k miles on it. He drives a couple miles to work, that's about it. My mom's car is a 2001 I believe, and I don't think she has more than 35k miles on it. I can't tell for sure because I know better than to even think about driving it! The third car, which my siblings drive, is a 2000 and has something like 25k on it. As for telling off your mom like that... I don't think my mom would have backhanded me like Kenny's. I sure as hell wouldn't say something like that to her though. It's just flat-out disrespectful, especially considering they helped pay for my car (and I'm going to guess, to this guy's as well).
