Default I have a set of H&R springs (unused) for my old Audi 4000S Quattro...(more)

Can they be used on my 98.5 A4 1.8T.
I ask, as they seem to measure up correctly.
But are they rated strong enough?

Default I would say no. You can always give it a try and hope

but it'd be much safer to get parts designed for the A4. a 4000 quattro weighs probably 500 lbs less than the A4 (or more) and that weight different will be signficant in spring design. check the H&R part numbers.. if the ones sold for an A4 1.8T happen to match up with the ones you have- give it a go. I would bet that it will not work however, and if it was my car, I wouldn't put them on
