Default I just got a new toy for my A4 in my office mail today --->

OEM 6 disc CD changer (part no. 4D0 035 111B)

I've got a few assumptions that need to be cleared up.

As you can see by the next two pics, there are 4 pre-drilled holes on each side. My first assumptions is that these are to mount it to the pre-drilled holes in the bracket in my trunk under the tool box. Assumption #2 is that I need to buy the screws for it, since I doubt they're there already and they didn't come with it. Next to each hole reads "M5x8max". Assumption #3 is that this is the screw size. Would I be able to take this number to any local hardware place like Home Depot and find the respective screw? Assumption #4 is that the screw between the 1 pre-drilled hole by itself and next to the top/left pre-drilled hole of the other 3 is to be moved according to its mounting plane. From left to right it reads along the arc: "V 67.5 45 22.5 H". It's in position V, so my last assumption is that it needs to be moved to H on both sides, since I'm putting it in its factory location.

Default Right-o

Most of your assumptions are correct. I recall only needing 4 screws total. They are small metric, so chance are you won't find them at home depot. If you've got a better hardware store, you can get them there. Otherwise, they're like $.40 ea at the dealer I think. Yes, flip it to H mode, since it'll be mounted horizontal, those are the different mounting positions, in degrees.

Default agreed, though they'll probably will be in the "specialty" bins at Home Depot

M5 defines the thread/bolt
"x8 max" is the max length of this bolt

hhmm... so they might not be hanging in the area separated by type of mounting surface?

Default Well, it might be...look at the sheet metal screws.

I haven't spent enough time in HD screw isles to know better though. It's easier to just stop in at the dealer. I'm sure they have a box of these on hand. As them to set aside 4, and pick them up on the way home. I like the path of least resistance though...you might like a challenge.

Default Nope.

These are machine screws. Like mark said, probably in the specialty bins, if at all. They don't carry much in terms of metric.

Default well, since D.R. doesn't know how to install a bulb, do you think they'd know which screws I need?

I'll give them a try on the way home, but I have my doubts.
