I let my roommate drive my car...
and being the generous person he is filled it up with gas. The only problem is that he put in regular gas. The cap says nothing below 91 octane, should I be worried?

I would take it VERY easy esp considering that you have a K04, my last car had a K04
and it was VERY fuel sensitive...so I would suggest you maybe get on the highway and just waste off that gas under low load. My car ran fine on Premium...but what it really needed in order to not ping under any circumstances was 94 Octane...
If you do drive hard on that crap gas understand that the pinging that results IS bad for the engine. Yes there is a knock control system, but that system is re-active not pro-active meaning it only intervenes after a problem has begun to occur thus limiting the damage...eventually the timing map will pull back and stay back...in this circumstance I would just pull the ECU or reset it using a VAG.
