Default I LOVE my A4!! (more)

For the past several months I've only driven my A4 in city traffic.
Never been able to really enjoy my car because of all the stop
and go traffic due to road construction in my area.
Last night I took a drive by the river through the city. There were
no other cars around since the Exhibition is on. I forgot how much
FUN this car is to drive (98.5 1.8TQM). Everything feels so good,
especially the steering. Had a blast and spent a couple hours
just touring around. Nice warm night, sunroof open, music off so I
can hear the evening sounds... Now I remember why I bought my A4.

I've just had my 99.5 A4 2.8QMS for a total of 3 days and I have managed to find every convoluted back road around Central CT to get to where I am going in the most fun and twisted manner. Now I know why I waited 2 years (after almost buying in 1997). I love this car. It's perfect.
-->Arch57

I could walk to work in 5-10 minutes, but sometimes it takes me longer than to drive there :-).

Default Which river were you driving by? (more)

Which river where you driving by? The Charles river (Cambridge side) in Boston is a lot of fun. The lanes (in some places) are real thin and the walls on the side of the road are real close (a good portion of the road is a tunnel). It gives an incredible illusion of speed. Best of all, you don't have to break the speed limit to get that feeling - no V1 neccesary!
Most of it is 2-lane highway, pretty much straight - but there are some nice curves too. The whole road is full of all these overpass which the road goes underneath to form sort of a quasi-tunnel. You get that weightless feeling as your A4 gets to the top of those hills.
Boy do I love that road.
KLHI
99.0 2.8QM Melange/Onyx Cloth (no mods)

Default Interesting description of river road ...

This description sounds foreign to me, and I used to live along the road in question on the Cambridge side of the Charles - Memorial Drive. I lived a block east of the Hyatt. There's only one such 'tunnel' underpass, at Mass. Ave, on the whole stretch that runs along the river from the Longfellow bridge to the jct. with Rt. 16. And not too many curves. Are you sure you don't mean Storrow Drive on the Boston side of the river? It fits this description much better.
