Maybe next time, then. This time I blew two tires and kinda had to go ahead with the upgrade

Default I beg to differ...

I have the Pzero rosso's and they are available in 205/55/R16, I have that size on my car. Well, not really, because my winter wheels are on right now, they are not suitable at all in the winter.

I went to Road America shortly after having them put on, and they only way I could make them squeal consistently was by slamming on the brakes. I wasn't comfortable pushing the car hard enough to reach the limits on the tires...

I thought the stock dunlop sp8000e's were good, but the pzero rosso's are better IMO.

Sorry -- they were not available _immediately_ -- I needed tires in order to drive. My bad.

Default Best bet is to check Wheel&Tire Forum.

But for my US$0.02, Hands down, best all-out wet/dry performance is Bridgestone S-03 Pole Position.

I had S-02PPs and then replaced them with S-03PPs. AMAZING. They handle better in wet than many tires do in the dry.

But don't go anywhere NEAR snow with them, or any other summer-only tire.

Check out TireRack's comparisons...

Yeah, I agree, they are hard to get on a very short notice.

Try the RE950's: far higher technology than the 730's; superior construction to any tire for the $$$

I have the 950's. Love 'em so far. And I've had good traction in snowy conditions too.
