I seem to find different opinions on this topic. I have old tires on my car now and plan to get...
new ones soon (4-8 weeks). I also want to get an alignment tomorrow because I had a rear wheel bearing changed a few weeks ago and it has almost been a year since my last alignment. These old tires are wearing nice and even to this point, but I don't want to risk a slightly bad alignment for when I get new tires. The question is, does it matter if I get the alignment now or with new tires? I've always thought it doesn't matter, but seeing one opinion go the other way around here makes me skeptical.

I have a much better reason. California doesnt really exist.
its just something people on the internet made up to sound like they were from somewhere cooler than Ohio or Alabama.
California exists exclusivly on myspace.
prove to me otherwise.

doesn't make a difference...
if you were balancing wheels.. and put new tires on. Yes you would have to balance the wheels over again. However for an alignment the wheels will not effect how "true" the car rides. I had an alignment done on my 2.8L with the stock wheels.. a month later (give or take..) I put on the new 18''... after riding with them for a month and a half... tread wear was even. Also I just went through what the board had to say... majority said it doesn't effect your alignment. ON THE FLIPSIDE... if you are getting new tires soon.. just get an alignment when you have the new tires on... never hurts and relativly cheap Plus you'll have peace of mind
