I was thinking about cleaning my ICV because I've been having this
unstable idle problem but someone mentioned fuel injection cleaners, so I decided to give it a try. My idle problem was so bad that I stalled my car many times at parking lots. I bought a BG 44K at a local gas station and added it and guess what? my idle problem disappeared right away. I'm not sure whether it is OK to use this type of product but it works!!!

Good for you...
Unlike you, I did have to clean my ICV. And believe you me, it was a tad tricky to get the damn thing out. It's not easy to get to it, and it's even harder not to drop the two nuts which have to come off. Small hands and a magnetic pickup tool help.
As for the kind of cleaner you used, they are generally save if you don't use them too often. They are pretty corrosive and can damage gaskets and synthetic components in the fuel system.
Many seem to agree that Techron concentrate is the best cleaner, and that's what I use once every time BEFORE I change the oil. That means I finish the tank with the Techron cleaner, gas up, then change the oil. I'm not sure what kind of contaminants the Techron will dissolve, and I don't want that stuff in my clean oil.
