IAC fault code on 99 1.8t?

IAC fault code on 99 1.8t?

i changed my battery the other day and my car just died after every start. so i took it to a mechanic and he said there was error code for the iac. so he replaced the iac, but that still didn't fix the problem. anyone have any ideas before i take it into a dealer to get gouged? thanks.

You may have already been gouged.......

1.8T's don't have IAC's. It's inclusive, with the throttle body. So, unless he swapped your throttle body......

hmm...what else could cause my engine to die after every start... after changing the battery?

I changed my batt. too and it wouldn't start after about....

10 cranks i walked away for 2 min,( saying you gotta be fu#$ing kidding me) and then it started and seemed to recalibrate itself...even turning off the engine light itself.
Well i was lucky.
