if i disconnect the battery to work on some elec stuff, does it matter which terminal i disconnect?

No, it was aluminum and iron oxide powder in the nitrocellouse bonded paint on the outer skin.
The first two are the primary ingredients in Thermit and the third is modern gunpowder.
That the lift bags were full of hydrogen only made it worse. The thing would have burned even if helium were the lifting gas as the paint had its own oxidizers for combustion.
