ignition coils
Greetings citizens, today I was told I may have a problem with the ig. coils. I did a search and read everything that was there. Questions: Are they easy to DIY replacement? Due to the complexity of the car, is there some special something that has to be done after replacement? Has anyone here done it? Thanx

Re: Very easy to replace, unplug old one, replug new one... maybe 2 bolts hold yours in place depend
Excellent Smithers. Now it's off to Clair parts for my 98.5, 1.8T, 5 sp, Q!

It may be your spark plug connectors!
I accidentally bought a set, but my 2000 A4 (ATW engine) doesn't have separate spark plug connectors, but they should fit your 98.5 motor (AEB engine code).
Anyway, the spark plug connectors are only about $60 for all 4 instead of ~$50 each. I paid $60 shipped, but I would let them go for $40 since I can't use em.
I'll shoot you an email too.
Take care,
FB
