ignition control module fix

ok, so my ICM went the other day and i am taking a shot at fixing the old one... so i got the cap off only to see that the whole unit inside is covered in silicone. how do i get the silicone off to solder inside, and does it matter that the silicone is gone after i am done???

You're talking about the module that mounts to the airbox?

I'm not 100% sure, but if you're asking these questions, I'd say the chance of you successfully rebuilding that control module for less than the cost of a new one are pretty slim.

I can get you one for around $113 IIRC.

Look up the threads for turboprincess. I fixed this about a year ago and it still works. and yes you must remove the thermal gel from around the pins or it will be tough to reach the heat needed to solder.

I fixed my and it still work fine after 1 year. I do not recommend it to who do not have access ....

Use an exacto knife slowly remove the gel around the disconnect terminal and transistor. Use a .....

very hot solder and alot of solder to make sure they contact well.

yes thats what i need! i tried calling your number but it said that the # cannot be completed as dialed. i live in canada would you be able to ship???
