Installing Hella horns...need to take off front valence(more)
I'm installing Hella high intensity horns, but their size limits where I can mount them. I will leave the OEM in place to make it easier when I sell my 98.5 someday. I found a convenient mounting point on the drivers side, but I would have better access if I removed the lower front valence below the bumber(not the engine cover). I can see small tabs every 4" or so and 2 torx screws in fender wells. Anyone know the easiest way to remove without breaking the tabs?

I tore one up and had to change it...
On either side there is a pop-rivit that connects the panel to the bumper, your going to have to drill them out. You then pull those 2 torx head screws, and then start by pulling the panel out on each side to release it from behind the bumper. After both sides are pulled out just start working the part forward off of the bumper. The plastic is tough, so don't worry about breaking the tabs. I haven't bothered putting the pop-rivits back, don't have the tool, but they don't seem to add much strength to the assembly.
