Instrument cluster/radio install question

If i am to put in an aftermarket h/u in place of symphony stock h/u can i use the radio display in the instrument cluster (top one) for anything else or is it just made to display radio info and warning signals (low gas etc...)?

mines been blank ever since I put my deck in

by the way...if you do decide to put in an aftermarket deck, I can make you a dash kit for it for a lot cheaper then most shops
