Okay, does anyone have any straight information as to interior colors on the B5 A4? It seems that some people with onyx interiors have either a black black, or a bluish black (but not as blue as "royal blue"). Are there really two onyxes?

I've seen in pictures that sometimes the interiors have a blue hint to them, and sometimes they don't. I thought it was just the pictures at first, but I searched the forum archives and found some people saying that even in person some interiors look bluish and others don't, so it would seem it is not just the color balance of the photographs that is causing them to look blue.

For example, one person said "My old 1999 A4 Onyx looked blue like that pic...my 2001 is BLACK...I'm much happier now." Another said he ordered onyx from the factory but got a bluish color. So, what's the deal, anyone know? Thanks.

my 98 has black trim here and there...but the main color is def. blue!!

id like to know also.
My onyx interior also looks a bit blueish (seats and dash) and I never quite undertood why some onyx looks more blueish then others

im assuming there was a change in some year going forward where the onyx was darkened to truly be onyx and not blueish-onyx

Audi just didn't get the Black right. My 99.5 Onyx interior is dark, dark, blue on the door panels

When did Audi start calling the black interiors "onyx"? Did they only start calling it onyx for MY 1999?
