Default Interior cosmetic mod, updating 98.5 air vents to late model backlit vents. Anyone ever done this?

I found a few online junkyards that have late model (2000) wrecked A4's that I am going to try and get the lighted air vents and swap out my non-lighted air vents. I think they add such a nice ambience to the interior at night.

If I can get them cheap, I'm gonna try it.

Has anyone ever done this? If so, any advice on what relay you wired them to?

Thanks

Let me know how it works out. I would be interested in doing the same thing.

Default oh yes they are on the newer models... it really looks great at night...

the lighting is actually inside the adjusting ****/wheel.

Ironic. I'd rather get rid of the vent lights in my car. They're a bit distracting.

Default I'd consider it. But the time it would take for me to pull out my old vents and put in the new ones

not to mention what damage I would inflict on the car...

It just doesn't seem worth it to me.

Also, have you considered what type of wiring you would have to install? It might be more hassle than it's worth.

Default Very, very easy to pull the vents out.

unclip the vents out of the housings, then the whole thing just slides out. with the lit ones, I'm guess you'll have to unplug a connector at the back, but that's it. No effort at all.
