ipod adapter problems

ipod adapter problems
I just bought an ipod adapter for my 01 a4, it says to just plug it in where the cd changer goes so I did. Put everything back in, the radio works fine except I cant press the cd changer button to switch over to the ipod. Is there something I am missing or is there a problem with my deck?
Ive installed these before just not with a plug like this, it seemed like it would be easier.

Hello,
Can you please let me know id the radio control function work on this unit. The blitzsafe is about twice as expensive but I can control my ipod from the radio. I'm thinking of doing this to my other Audi so if it does the same thing I might as well save 60 bucks and go to dinner with my girlfriend. Thank you.

Controlling an Ipod with a concert or symphony radio controls, with no text showing on the radio is hit and miss at best.
I found using the Ipod controls much easier.
Also it doesn't say whether the unit charges the new generation ipods.
