Not just possible...required if you are going to register the car
Cars with salvage titles cannot be registered in most if not all states. If you repair the car and meet all of a states requirements proving the car is roadworthy, the car will be re-titled and is then eligible for registration, etc.
This is not to say the paper trail is erased. But careless buyers may never check.
