Default I've got a dilemma... I don't really want to take the risk of rubbing, but with an agressive

offset (30mm) on the 18x8.5 wheels that my cousin is giving me from his MB, should I mount the brand new 235 40 18 T1S's that I have, or just cough up the $ and buy another set of 225 40 18's to put on? I don't know if I want to take the loss on the tires since I am pretty sure even though they're new, people expect them at a "used" price.

I have my fenders already rolled... but the 30mm offset is pretty psycho. (Guess what wheels these might be?) My car is lowered w/ H&R race springs/Koni Shocks.

Mount one, stick it on the car (jacked up) and turn the wheel. The height shold be fine.

Default If I was betting...it's not going to work.

Can't hurt to test fit first. Drive gently, and slowly push it until you hear the dreaded sound.

I've got 18x8.5 with a 33mm offset and 235-40-18's. My fender height is 25.75" and I rub the liner up front on regular day to day driving. I haven't bothered to really push it, because I don't want to have to do bodywork! :-( Stiffer shocks/springs are on the way, but I'll likely swap out to a 225-40-18 tire.

Default Hehe... already rolled... I don't want to push it too much. One thing I heard though is that T1S's

are relatively narrow (compared to tires like S03's). So I might be able to get away with mounting the 235's.

if the car is jacked up, even a 265-wide rim will fit with ET30 offset.

Default Hehehe... they found a new home already. 8o) I got a set of LM's that my cousin is

giving me. The wheels are a bit scratched on the lips, but hey... who wouldn't take a free set of LM's? I just got to call up the tirerack to get some hubcentric rings and bolts.

Default Thanks RKA... I guess I'll post my tires on the classifieds or on eBay then...

I guess taking the small loss on the tires isn't as bad as having chewed up fenders. 8op

Default 30mm is a lot, I was running on a 32mm offset and 225 S03's

I was getting rubbing initially, until we raised the suspension a bit...
On 235's it depends on the tires really...not sure how the T1-s are shaped...
