Default Jackass meets good samaritan...

So I'm pulled out of a space at the local post office when some clown in a Chevy K1500 (size of a land yacht) parked in the handicapped space next to me, backs direcctly into my A4 rear door. I pull over to exchange info - she takes off quicker than I can follow. As I call the cops to report it - and from the MB dealership next door a service rep comes running outside having witnessed the accident. Has the tag number (not handicapped tag of course) and the cops go flying after her. She says she never hit me ("see there's no damage to my truck") but with my story fully corroborated by the witness, her insurance is covering the damage in full, no questions asked! And of course no damage to the truck - the sucker weighs around 4 tons! After the claim was approved, I went back to the dealership to thank the rep personally and hand him a gift certificate for a good dinner - small token for saving me my deductible and a possible rate hike on my insurance. My faith in people is restored!

Did they get the lady in the truck for leaving the scene of an accident?

Default No, she claims she was completely unaware she had hit me...

and the police felt she was being sincere. What the cops didn't hear was that she claimed to her insurance company that she couldn't have possibly hit me since there was no damage to her truck. I had to tell her insurance company 3 things: (1) she backed directly into my car which was verified by photos showing straight on impact; (2) she was parked in a handicapped zone w/o handicapped plates; and (3) she left the scene of the accident.

I had a check for the damage in less than a week!
