jumper cables included?
My battery died recently and I found that I didn't have an jumper cables. I thought I did. Did anyone's A4 here come with jumper cables somewhere? I have a 2000 A4 2.8 MS. Maybe I've just forgotten where to look.

Is this your first car?
There are certain tools which everybody should keep in the car. Jumper cables and flashlight are at the top of my list. I bought them when I had my first car, and then just transferred them to subsequent cars.
I've upgraded the flashlight once. But I still have my original jumper cables -- only used once or twice.
Go buy them. They're cheap. Get the heaviest gauge you can find.

Of course it's not my first car. Yes, I need to go buy some -- thought I already had them. You're lecturing to the choir I had them in my old Civic stashed in the crappy spare tire, and since I don't have them now, I figured I must have given them away with the old car because the Audi had them someplace. It doesn't, so I must have just given them away by negligence. Strange, I've had this same car jumped before (I'm now on my 3rd battery in 4.5 years, no Audi bashing in this post and I thought I would have noticed the missing jumper cables by now.
Regarding roadside assistance service, I'm reminded of the old engineering design adage: Fast, Good, Cheap -- pick two.
Thank god I have a manual transmission, so if I'm having battery trouble, I just park it on a hill
