Just curious: The 2.8 is heavier than the 1.8T, so shouldn't the brakes be stronger/beefier?

Oops E46. Read a recent in Roundel which compared the stats directly.

A4 brakes are PUNY.

did they compare E46 to B6 too?

I thought the B6'ers got better brakes?

true.. stock a4 brakes are inferior compared to e46 3-series brakes

for sure
