Default Just finished doing rear wheel bearing, now steering wheel is out of alignment...

It was fine before and now when going straight the wheel is off about 30 degrees to the left.

I removed the rear sway bar and sway bar links because I was planning on swaping out to the S4 rear bar. The sway bar link bolts that connect to the sway are both siezed. I got one of the nuts half way off then it got stuck and I stripped the hex key that holds the bolt. I can even retighten the nut becuase it's stuck.

Would having no rear way cause the steering wheel to be off? I don't think so but I could be wrong. Anyother ideas? Guess I'll just have to order H-Sports and new links.

Default thanks, found someone else who had the same problem...

it's because I pulled the whole upright and now the toe is off. I marked the position of all the bolts, but obviouly it's still off. Guess I need an alignment.

Default Loosen everything again and jack up the suspension to road height then tighten to the marks.

If you tightened it with it drooped hanging down that's the problem. It has to be "at loaded road height"

Default Thanks, it helped quite a bit. I'll still need an alignment, though...

the wheel is off about 5 degrees now.

Happened to me too after I did both rear bearings. Steering was off about 30 deg. like yours.
