Just got this recall in the mail "Safety Recall JS" - Replace Ignition Switch 96-97's

weird. I thought that that was a very old recall and was mostly taken care of during
the first year of services. I'm surprised that your ignition lasted this long without issues.

Cool....wish i had got one of those.
But im not the original owner and i highly doubt the previous owner would send that to me...oh well i got it fixed for $42 and it wasnt that much of a PITA.

I'll have to check into it again but I know there was an action/tsb a long time ago
for the ignition switch. It is the 4A0 ignition switch not the 4B0 which they started using in 98 sometime.

Dunno, the date that it was reported to NHTSA was 10/26/2006...this is different ->
"DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW IGNITION SWITCH WITH AN OPTIMIZED ANCHOR POINT FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON NOVEMBER 27, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT AUDI AT 1-800-822-2834.
