Well, I bit the bullet and chipped my car today. All I can say is, 'why did I wait so long?'. I went up to Dick's Audi Performance (Sal's) in Castro Valley at lunch today, and Dick himself changed out the ECU and filter in about 20 minutes. He even checked my emissions to be sure everything looked OK. Great service, thanks!<p>The idle characteristics of the car seem unchanged, as is tooling around on side streets. Upon hitting the i580 on-ramp, however, I immediately noticed the more pronounced turbo whine, and the 'kick in the butt' feeling once the engine hits about 3000 rpm. I couldn't get the grin off my face! Guess I'm going to take the long way back home tonight.<p>Another note: The guys at DAP were in the middle of installing a P.E.S. supercharger kit on a nice looking 2.8 30v. I drove up to Homosassa to have the chip installed. Ivor showed me the A4 he races<br>and is now trying to sell. He is building a new one, and had the frame sitting in his shop. The service was great. They took time to answer all my questions.<br>The performance increase from the chip is very noticable above 3000 rpm in all gears (I have a manual, fwd). I got my TAP chip about a month and a half ago. The diference is incredible, I should have never waited. Revsport in C-Springs was great. Dave Jones was also woking on an S4 when I was there.
