just a note, that VW 02 sensor does NOT FIT MY 2001!

Yeah, it seems to only fit the 2000 model year...
Audi changed up the 02 sensors each year. The nonDBWs were the same but changed with the 2000s and then changed again with the 2001. What a PITA.

Um... did you repin/splice the connector?
O2 sensors only come in one size, I believe, so it should physically fit into your downpipe. With the S4s, it is just necessary to splice on the Audi connector harness in order to connect the sensor up.

I'm not sure about the 2000s and 2001s but for the 99.5s...
I repinned and got heater wire errors...I tried different combinations. Something internally is different with the VW one. It was also physically different looking than my 99.5 one. However, the VW and 2000 A4 O2 sensors physically look the same as well as share the same connectors.
