Just ordered my short shifter!...how is the install?

Pretty easy after a few times...
I kept re-doing mine because I was trying to get as much left/rear lean as possible, so that the shifter was real close to me. As for the C-clip...get 2 pieces of 12" long solid wire and loop it through each hole. Then grab them and pull apart and voila!..up pops the C-clip.

Wasn't bad, if you got the right tools
The circlip pliers (about $17 at Sears) really helped out. Also, make sure your allen bit has a flat bottom and no rounded edges at the tip, otherwise you'll risk stripping the screw. That depression in the head of the screw is a little shallow. That was my biggest problem. The 4claw retreiver helped out as well, definately worth the $6 I spent on it. Other than that, it wasn't bad at all. Once installed, works like a charm. Shifts are short, crisp, and precise.

Get the right tools...and i had to shave down some of the plastic to get the short shifter to fit. I can explain further if you need me to..
