I take the key out of the ignition, but apparently it still thinks its in there. I searched the archives...looks like a bad lock core or something. I've scheduled to have it looked at. One more problem... There is a creaking sound coming from the passenger side. I think it localized in the roof near the passenger door. Can't be to sure though as creaks travel pretty easily. Other than these 2 problems, Luv dis car!

My car chimed also...fix was to put the key back in, push "in" a little, then take it out...chimes stopped...

I don't know if they're the same part, but a number of people have reported that their headlight chimes don't work. The fix is a new instrument panel at a cost of $1200, so get it done under warranty if you want your chimes.<p>Kyle<br>'97 2.8 with working chimes

#1 - Sounds like a bad lock cyl. #2 - Could it be the pass. head rest? Try holding on to it and see if the noise stops?
