Lambda Problems again - anyone got the solution?
Hi,
I saw a number of people with similar problems on the forum but did not find anyone that said they had found the solution. I was wondering if anyone did find a solution to the problem. I would like to fix it if possible. The "Check Engine" light
isn't much help when it's on all the time.
My error code is:
16545 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B2 S2: Heating Circuit Malfunction P0161 -
92 -00 - Unknown Error Elaboration
I was told by a shop it was in that the heater on the probe was not
getting power. Cleared the light, but it comes back on as soon as the
engine exceeds 2000 rpm.
I have replaced the entire sensor with a correct one but that did not
solve it (that was before the second shop told me that there was no power
to the heater).
I am going to check all the fuses with a test light to see if that shows
anything, but after that I am out of ideas.

hope you changed the sensor after the Catalytic Converter.
and you didnt specify if it's a v6 or 4. it it's a v-6 it's on the pipe of cylinder #2. Bank 1 is always the bank with cylinder #1, sensor 1 is pre cat, sensor 2 is after cat.

sounds like your o2 sensor is dead that or you have an electrical problem on your hands.

If you already replaced the sensor (Bank 2, Sensor 2) I would suspect a bad connection somewhere from the sensor to the ECU. If you have VAG-COM try looking at Display Group 040, field 4 at cold start. The current draw should start at about 3 amps once the exhaust temp reaches 586F - after ~20 seconds at 2500RPM - and should then fall quickly to ~1.4 amps within 80 seconds. If you get zero current even after warm-up, it would suggest a bad connection.
