Default Launching a tip, correct way?

driving home from work today i looked in the rearview mirror and saw a silver a4 with 2 guys in it. i proceeded to smoke them down a hill and on a few straights, and i still have my stock 15's w/blizzaks for the winter. finally we got into traffic and he stuck out his head and asked me what kind of audi i have a4/s4, being that mine is debadged. we pulled over and shot the **** for a while. he had a 01 v6q 5spd. mine is a 99a4 1.8t tip w/apr chip,n710dv,n75j, and custom cai w/k&n filter. he truly thought it was an s4. any tips on driving/launching a tip? when i shift it using the tip, the response time from when you hit the + and it actually upshifts sucks. i think i saw something about a tip chip to solve this. any imput would be appreciated thanks.

cool, the response of the tip sucks, you have to shift it at like 5500 if you want it to shift at 6500, lol. as for the tip chip is that the giac one for $250? does anyone else make one? also how hard are they to install.

Default giac tip chip

GIAC is the only one making the tip chip. I believe the modification reduces the timing between shifts from 1 second to 0.1

If you go to the Tech section above, or search the forum, there was an article in the past on removing the tip chip from your A4 and sending it for chipping. It's pretty easy to install, you're basically doing most of the 'install' when you first remove it and send it to GIAC. Do you have a Bentley manual too?
