Lifter stuck in the down position...need ideas
So I just finished replacing the valve cover seals. I put everything back together and hand cranked the engine when I hit an abrupt stop going in both directions. Pulled the passenger side cam shafts and noticed a lifter on the intake was completely stuck in the down position. It even appears as if the valve spring (or rod?) may have pushed back into the lifter and dented it. All the other lifters easily come out with a magnet but this one is really jammed in and wont come out. I've soaked it with brake cleaner for awhile and nothin. I'm really hoping I dont have to remove the head but it may come to that. Any suggestions on getting this thing out??? Much appreciated.

I'd get a six-pack and lay out the cylinder head removal tools. That valve (at least that one) is bent and has deformed the lifter. I think you'll have to take that head to a specialist to get the valve and lifter out.
