Default LLtek/MC intake kit gets hot!!! I am trying to find a way to cost effectively wrap the heatshield..

Because it gets really hot even after a short 20-30minute drive. The only reason i am worried is because the intake tube itself is hot to the touch also because the heatshield conducts the heat through the metal. Intake charge will get warmer as it passes through the tube. Any ideas on how what to wrap the heatshield with for high temperature. Links, etc.. What has other people done? Thanks in advance!!! :-)

Default Thermal wrap the heat shield brother..

I'm gonna do it when I opt for the intake kit.

These guys have it (thermal /exaust wrap). I've ordered from them before.

Fairly priced and legit.<ul><li><a href="http://motorworks.com/">http://motorworks.com/</a</li></ul>

are you sure it gets hot? i thought that it was getting hot at first, but i realized its because i let the car sit for about a min before i opened up the hood. but if the car is moving...then cool air is going there, and therefore making it cooler. as soon as you stop the car, jump out and pop open the hood, i bet its still cool. i guess it sucks for stop lights....so mabbe looking into a heat wrap would be good..*shrug*

Default Gold Foil is the real ticket...but I think it would be hard to find...and very expensive..

maybe someone who lives nears the Smithsonian can run in and yank a sheet off the Lunar Lander...that thing was covered in Gold Foil
