Long winded debate on S4 forum about two wheel towig a quattro(more)
Anyone have any advice as to what kind of premature damage towing a quattro on two wheels will have to the transaxial and the transfer box/case??
The care was towed from the front so the back wheels were on the ground. AoA says that hurts the engine, but if any damage was done you would know the minute you tried to drive away. Rockville Audi and a couple other places concur that if the car is running that damage did not occur.
Is there anyway to tell if premature degradation has occured, anyway to test for it?
Any help would be beneficial.

I think it was Jim A. with the torsen on his desk. If there was a problem, it would be pretty hard to detect (unless there was a catastrophic failure) short of removing and inspecting lash. A simpler, but less accurate test would be to drain the oil and look for shiny chips...
