Look at this....

Today I changed my timing belt. Here is a picture of the old tensioner unit. I made it a full 69K before changing it out. The biggest difference is the ball in socket joint, which was changed on the new tensioner. I hope this clears any questions anyone may have had. You can check out the new kit and it's tensioning unit at many places. I'll post a link..

ECS tuning

Re: How long did you TB change take? What else did u replace?
I replaced a lot of things. I replaces 2 vaccum lines, the water pump, the thermostat, all my belts, and of course the timing belt. The timing belt was not too bad. It took us a few tries to get the belt on right. You have to set the belt back a tooth because when you tension it, it [the belt] it pulls everything forward about a tooth. I also drained and flushed the radiator. The job took about 7 hours we started this morning at 11 am and finished at about 5:45pm. I had help though. It just so happend I got help from a friend, who is a Audi cerified Mechanic and works at the local Audi dealership.. Since he is the foreman we took the car into the dealership and got to use all the jacks and specially manufactured tools, which made the job much easier. I'm sure if we busted our butts a little more we would have got done sooner, but we took our time. We also stopped for lunch, and he looked over the rest of the car to see about anything else. I bought all my parts at ECS tuning. They are very helpful and saved me a bunch when it came to $$$. I highly recommend them.

ECS Tuning
