What custom wiring?

Any details about this? I'm considering the same kit. I don't have a trip computer, but "large negative voltage spike" doesn't sound good for anything, and I'd like to avoid this.

I don't have the exact details ...

I'm not much of an electronics guy unfortunately, so I had the work done by Pat at Pro Imports. He showed me a graph of the voltage spike, and made a custom wiring harness to correct the problem. All I know is that it involves using diodes to reduce the spike and an additional ground connection from the harness.
