Lookin at gett A4 1.8T Quattro (1997) Help!?!
Ok I am looking at getting an Audi A4 1.8T Quattro (1997)
I heard they have problems with control arms going alot as well the timing belts should be replaced sooner than what is said in the owners manual.
Besides the fact that the are an all around GREAT car what should I watch out for and what are some common problems that they have.
Lanny you see a few of those come through the shop and what are the major problems they have.
Since I have driven VW's for all of my driving "carrer" I only think that an A4 is a logical step in quality and evolution.
As for performance ups
I saw some people using brakes from higher level audi's as well as older boxters... Would it be more wise to get calipers from a higher lever audi instead of aftermaket.
As for suspension what is a good brand/ set up for all around including coilover suspension, sway bar, strut tower bars. As well as control arms.. I dont want to have to replace them every couple of years because many people have issues with them.
For chipping what is a good company to go with. I hear Wetterauer is a good company.
For intake and exhaust... Is K&N really as good as people say it is.
For a clutch I am looking at centerforce II clutch.
Larger Injectors...what is a good company... bang for the buck
As you can see I am not familiar with A4 aftermaket because I have been mainly a VW person... Its kind of a natural transfer thoguh. Thanks guys for your help and cant wait to see the feed back. TTYl
Oh I was looking at stats and the BHP/ HP at the crank as well as torque and all I can ever find is 2.8L postings so waht are they. All though all the reviews I have read from magazines havin been impressive.
