Default lost to a gti? what are some ways to make more power?

I just recently got my 2001 a4 1.8t chipped with the giac-x and i had a run in with a new mk5 gti a few nights ago. i was alone and he had one passenger but still seemed to pull about a car or two by 80mph. I though the gti's only had about 200 hp, and iirc i thought the x-chip was rated some close to that. Im still running stock exhaust and a 710n dv but planning to get a borla or something similar in the near future. Also if i got a labree hfc in addition to the exhaust what are the chances that i would throw a cel? would that be enough of a power gain to be even with the gti? is there anything else i could do that could squeeze a little more power of my chipped engine? i dont have enough money to go k04 or bt right now so thats out of the question.

FYI- I dont like to street race. This was actually the first time I have raced anyone. i just wanted to see what my car had against a new gti. It was late and the intersection and highway were completley empty.

Default need less weight...

probably weighs at least 500 pounds less.

Rode in one last weekend that had been tuned, etc... What a rush, made my A4 look like it was stuck in second gear.

Default he could have been chipped too. but if that were the case, I'd assume

that he would have pulled on you even more.

that 2.0t > chipped 1.8t. area under the curve is better.

A4s are slow, GTIs are quick. You've been had.
