Lost reverse!

I was not joking. You are in 'limp-home' mode. If you do not believe me, do an archive search on the word "limp." This is not a tranny problem - it a tranny safety feature when your ecu diagnosis a severe engine malfunction. Normally, you should bring the car to the dealer - but since you just installed the Wett, I'd suggest that you call them immediately.
BTW, this is your third post on the subject. I understand you're stressed, but please stop asking the same question.
Good luck,
Chris

All in the sudden all the lights on the dash for the shift indicator came on: PRND4321. Lost reverse and shifts poorly. No other indicators that his was about to happen. Car is Very Pampered. Has anyone else had this happen? Pushing the car backwards in the rain really sucks. Ideas anyone?
Erik the unhappy.
Response from "Auditech" was that it was limp-home mode....
Given the Wett connection - he should definitely call them.
Just wondering how one could over rev the engine with the rev limiter in place. I'm especially interested since my car did the exact same thing over the weekend while I was at the drag strip. My engine was definately not cold though since I just got off the highway and was going through tech when they called imports.
I keep both foot down until the light turns, then I pop off the brake. As soon as I did this on my first run, all the gears were highlighted on the dash, and as soon as it shifted out of first, I went into what seemed like neutral. I backed off immediately, then tried to gas it a little again. It felt like I was riding the clutch. I was going, but I can feel it slipping.
After I got off the track, I waited for the turbo to cool down a bit, then shut the car off. A few minutes later, turned on the car again, and everything was fine. The next run on the strip, I did the exact same launch, no problems.
I have been wondering what exactly happened. Did Audi tech tell you it was because you over-revved 1st?
