Hi all audi entusiasts, I had my car for about 8 months and BUM...out of nowhere....reverse is not shifting in, 5th and 6th gears....all other gears are fine...some grinding in 4th when I try to get in 5th and need to go back into 4th....REVERSE can be engaged in with some little effort when car is not warmed up...IF i get into the car and start and enage into Reverse - No probles at all, but after driving for 5-10min I cannot shift in Reverse anymore...same if car is not driven but engine is running for 5-10min. Please let me know what is up...before I do replace the whole tranny...I did try linkage issue, no change...if you have any other suggesions please reply...my car is '01 S4 with 42k ml...very clean and never driven hard, my warranty just ended before I realised that I should off extend it...now it is too late to go to dealer...but even if I will have to go to STEALER (dealer) I want to know what is wrong with tranny from you guys(girls)...also if you know some good shops or mechanics for audis in tristae (NJ, PA, DE) let me know their info...THANKS to you off all - my only reliable source for info and advise in my Audi needs. Sounds like a linkage adjustment loose problem. STFA for procedures.
